Lake of Osage

Labor Day....We had one day off....

Since new semester just began, we don't have strong study mood yet!
Guess what?We went to Lake of Osage....Others that shopping in Osage, it is a relaxing tourism place in Missouri.
One and the half an hour drive from Columbia. *not that far.....
Everything were planned last minutes......hotel......transportation......!

We reached there around 12p.m and got our lunch in Applebees.
After we done with our lunch, we started shopping until 8p.m....*almost ran out of energy but luckily it was windy day!
Suddenly, there was a thing came to my mind.....make a surprise birthday celebration for Alex. Another 5 days was his 21st birthday, so we decided to got him a cake and wine for this simple and unplanned celebration.
The next day, we planned to rent a boat but it was so unlucky! There was requirement to renting a boat: Must be 21 years with a driving licenses. I'm 21 years old but I don't have a driving licenses. Alex have a driving licences but he was still underage.
Couldn't rent the boat, we need to figure out what to do next: Bowling.....This was my first time saw an oldish Bowling with written score projected on the screen and it was happened in the US.

After Bowling, we still have time and wondering what were we going to eat for our dinner. In a sudden, Lit was the one suggest us go to winery farm. Whoop....Nice PICK! We pay for $10 for tasting all kinds of wine: Sparkling wine (is my favorite), Red wine, White wine and etc....
Let's see my reddish & scary face:

A week before school start, I been to Colorado.
Even though it was a 10 hours drive trip from Columbia to Colorado, still fun because I was the one slept all the way to Colorado.

After settled down everything, we rushing to our first destination, US Olympic Training Center. It is the free admission attractions place with come with a tour guide showing you around the training center.
I found out Malaysia flag in the US Olympic Training Center

Next, Ghost Town Museum is located in Colorado Springs. The term "Ghost and Town" came to my mind was scary, and dark place. Guess what!Actually means turn back your watch 100 years before, there were a true preservation's of Colorado western past, fun and historic look back at kind of old west town that used to dot this region during the 1800's and 1900's.

Then, coming to Garden of Gods, a place that surrounding by magnificent red sandstone rock formations over 300 millions years old and were sculpted through time by the forces of nature. There are approxitemetely 19 types of rock formations but we just been to few of it due to the lack of time rushing to next destination to see sunset in the Pikes Peak.

Dinner time!We drove all the way back to our hotel to hunt for our dinner. Finally, we got into a Japanese restaurant which was nice environment but the food was taste bad. My friend got a sashimi set. Guess what? He found out there was some bone in the salmon! *Ridiculous! Then we called up our server to find out!Did you know what does the server said?"Fish of course contains bones".......In the moment, all of us stunt for a second!.......

Next day, Pikes Peak, the most visited mountain in North America and the second most visited mountain in the world behind Japan's Mount Fuji. You can reach there by Pikes Peak Cog Railway, Barr Trail, or Pikes Peak Highway. We used the Pikes Peak highway which is ONLY 19miles drive to reach the summit. Mount Kota Kinabalu (13435 feet) should considered to build a highway to reach the summit. "US boleh, MALAYSIA JUGA BOLEH!".....This will attract more visitors around the world!

Ended up our Colorado Spring and drove all the ways to HotSpring. When we reached our cabin, there were few deers welcoming us!*Wee....After settled down, we rushed to the natural hotspring to relieve my tiredness! Here's the crystal clear hotspring river!

A Lovely Weekend in St Louis

Finally, I am done with my super intenssummer class.
A week before summer class end I been to St Louis over the weekend.
Even though it just 3 days 2 nights, we still having a good experience especially for those students who are study abroad.

1st day:
Sightseeing around the downtown in St Louis. And, stopped by Union Station. One thing that intersting me a lot was the Whispering Arch. Here's the little knowledge about the history of Whispering Arch: It was discovered when the station was built in the 1890's. A workman dropped a hammer on one side of the arch and a painter on the other side, nearly 40 feet away, heard him. Since the disvoery, the arch has been witness to marriage proposals and coutless other secretive declarations. To experience this phenomenon yourself, simply face the wall and speak into the arch and your" whispering voice" will be hard on the other side.
2nd day:
Eckert's Farm. Want to know more about Eckert's Farm *Click HERE*
Plucked our own juicy peaches " Red Haven" and sweet blackberries "Triple Crown".
I knew some of the reader will think i came from "Kampung" *village, never see the big juicy peaches and blackberries before! But this was one of my good experience visited such a big farm and got to swallow as much as I can during the plucking session.

After spending the whole morning in the farm, we almost enjoyed until forgot our lunch.
Lunch of the day, FRESHY CATFISH. *Hey not frozen catfish, it was fresh from the sea!
This was my first time eating fresh Fish in US!*aww....
3rd day:
It is a MUST when you visit St Louis, both of them have the unique architecture: Gateway Arch is the tallest monument in the United States; and Cathedral Basilica of St Louis is one of the largest mosaic collection in the world, it covering by 83000square feet of mosaics.

*I'm Lucky because on this trip I not even spend a penny and still have a comfortable bedroom, tasty oriental food which I could not get in Columbia,MO, and private tour around St Louis." Why? I met someone who came from Penang invited us to come over and just realized that they speak Teochew.
The funniest quotes "Teochew Nang, Ka Ching Ang Ang", "Oh, Lu Si Teochew Nang, Ma Si Ka Ki Nang"

My first day in Pismo Beach

Blues Music

Yesterday I been to San Francisco city to see Charlie Musselwhite performance.
It was amazing. One thing that suprised me was he could stand there for two hours long non stop by playing his instruments. We were so curious "How old is he?"....."Why did he has much energy..."...So when I got back I try to google it out everything.
HE IS 65 YEARS OLD....!!!!!
He is one of the energetic performer, plays Harmonica, Guitar and Vocals.
